Test-Drive Meme

This meme serves as a practice ground for both new and old players of Somarium to both get used to Dreamwidth tagging and to voicetest characters they may choose to play in the upcoming application cycle. Potential applicants are more than welcome to join in on the fun. It works like any open meme and the rules are simple.

1. You decide to head to the mountain. You heard that there were odd creatures lurking about and choose to investigate. Instead you bump into someone who just so happens to be in the mountain as well.

2. It's your first time creating a dream plane. So far so good. But it looks like you've got some visitors joining you as well.

3. A part of the underground tunnels collapsed and some people are trapped in the rubble. They're asking for a few good men to lend a hand. Are you up for it?

4. The Host Club is holding a big formal event and you were invited to it! Let's hope you have your +1 at your side during the event. Unless you're the wallflower type of course. Well, tough luck. People are bothering you anyway.

5. It's moving in day! Whether it be your character's or another's, there's a lot of boxes to haul into the place so better get started. Go go go!

Oh! [Aurora smiles brightly. Honestly, she loves parties, the few she's been to.] I would be quite happy to! You're very kind to offer.

It would positively illegal for me to not allow a lady of your charm to accompany me. [he offers his arm.]

[She takes his arm. Honestly, she's not sure how it could be "illegal" but she doesn't see any harm in the matter.] Have you been to something like this before?

[He escorts her along.]

A few times, yes. I have an admitted weakness for social gatherings like these. Have you?

Oh I simply adore dancing, and seeing everyone have a good time makes me happy. [She smiles up at him.]

I couldn't agree more. Could I convince you to dance with me, or is that looking too far above my station? [he grins teasingly at her.]

You needn't try very hard to convince me! I would love to dance!

And me as well.

[Kristoph is a very good dancer.]

[They reach the dance floor and Aurora rests one hand on his shoulder.]

[Kristoph gently rests a hand on her hip, the other coming up to intertwine with her open hand. He leads the dance gracefully, but sharply.]

[Aurora is a very graceful dancer for someone who lived in the forest for sixteen years.]

You dance very well, sir.

I consider it of utmost importance to be well-versed in leisure activities. You are very talented yourself, my dear.

Oh, please call me Aurora, sir. [She giggles.] And thank you. I suppose my aunts were a little sneaky in teaching me things I would need to know for court.

That's a lovely name. I'm Kristoph. It is an absolute pleasure to meet and dance with you.

Thank you, and it's wonderful to meet you, Mr. Kristoph. I don't think I've seen you around Somarium before.

Oh, please, just Kristoph.

Well, that's because I've never been there. Though I must say I'm considering the possibility.

Oh, I think that would be wonderful if you did come. Meeting new people is always fun!

I can certainly say it would be a pleasure to come. I do love to travel, but work has kept me cooped up in one place for too long. I'll have to see.

Oh! What do you do for work?

I'm a defense attorney.

Oh, I'm afraid I don't know what that is.

Many people, when they're accused of wrongdoing and brought to a court of law, hire someone who is intricately familiar with the law and how the court procedures work, so that they have a better chance of having their name cleared. That's a defense attorney.

Was that a clear enough definition, my lady?

Oh yes, thank you. Though I hope I am never accused of such wrong doings.

I doubt a lady as beautiful of yourself is capable of even an impure thought.

[She giggles as they continue to dance.] I certainly hope that is the case. Although I honestly don't know what sort of ruler that will make me.
