Test-Drive Meme

This meme serves as a practice ground for both new and old players of Somarium to both get used to Dreamwidth tagging and to voicetest characters they may choose to play in the upcoming application cycle. Potential applicants are more than welcome to join in on the fun. It works like any open meme and the rules are simple.

1. You decide to head to the mountain. You heard that there were odd creatures lurking about and choose to investigate. Instead you bump into someone who just so happens to be in the mountain as well.

2. It's your first time creating a dream plane. So far so good. But it looks like you've got some visitors joining you as well.

3. A part of the underground tunnels collapsed and some people are trapped in the rubble. They're asking for a few good men to lend a hand. Are you up for it?

4. The Host Club is holding a big formal event and you were invited to it! Let's hope you have your +1 at your side during the event. Unless you're the wallflower type of course. Well, tough luck. People are bothering you anyway.

5. It's moving in day! Whether it be your character's or another's, there's a lot of boxes to haul into the place so better get started. Go go go!

6. Re-roll or create your own scenario.

Oh! Phillip! [She smiles.] I was just coming up here to get some special herbs.

I'd have disagreed, but then I remembered- Sheer rock face, one-handed. WITH A SWORD IN THAT HAND.

Special herbs? They sound interesting...

But you're staying well away from the darker area, yes? I'm still working on clearing out the nasties that are hiding there; I need to get better equipment to do it properly.

[Philip has IDEAS for making that happen, of course.

Oh of course not dearest. But I can't very well go without gathering these herbs. [Modern medicine, Aurora understands it not.]

[So, she's an HERBALIST as well? His lady just shows more and more sides of herself as time goes on! He'd better hop to it if he's going to stay as interesting to her as she is to him.]

Entirely understandable, I'd trust some proper physic over these folk's remedies any day. Even so, I'd feel better coming along; this place isn't quite as safe as it used to be.

Unless you'd mind having another pair of hands to help you gather? [As it's possible this might well be the case, Philip just goes ahead and hides his uncertainty under a teasing tone and confident smile.]

[She's not sure you should call her an herbalist when it's the basic knowledge of what will and won't kill you.]

You're welcome to help me. [She pulls out a plant from the basket.] I'm looking for this. It will help with upset stomachs since peppermint plants are no longer in season.

[Seeing as Philip has a basic knowledge of 'if you don't recognize it from the dinner table, it will probably kill you', he's still just fine calling her that.]

Ah, I see. Do you use the whole plant, or just the leaves or some such? [He'll go ahead and reach for her hand the plant, COINCIDENTALLY catching her hand in the process.]

Is there any kind of special environment for it, like the north side of mossy trees or anything?

I use different parts of the plants for different remedies. Different ways of grinding or parts cause different effects.

And they grow at high elevations, that's why I cam to the mountain.

Oh, I see! This must be a very useful plant, then, if you can use different parts of it that way.

Okay, he'll give a chuckle.] I suppose I walked into that one. I just wondered if there were any specific conditions I should be looking for up here, like under a rocky outcropping or some su- is that it over there?

[Aurora is oblivious to the effect her mere HAIR her has on her beloved. Probably for the best or she'd think him a silly man.]

Take about only half of what you see. A good deal of animals eat it too.

[Silly about her? He'd plead guilty on that one, no doubt; she deserved all the goofy looks he could offer.]

Ah, I see. Natural medicine for them too, hmm? [He just headed on over and started plucking him up some planty goodness.]
