Test Drive Meme: September
Test-Drive Meme: September 2012
This meme serves as a practice ground for both new and old players of Somarium to both get used to voicetest characters they may choose to play in the upcoming application cycle. Potential applicants are more than welcome to join in on the fun. It works like any open meme and the rules are simple.
1. Post with your character and their name and canon on the subject line.
2. Roll 1-6 on the RNG
3. ???
4. PROFIT
1. Looks like the Ob Holm bazaar is having a sale. There's a few interesting trinkets here and there but maybe you need a little help deciding what to buy.
2. The dreamgate isn't accessible for the return trip back from Endouto to Ob Holm so it looks like you're stuck for a couple of days. Maybe it's time you gather some supplies or explore the area.
3. Someone just stole something off of you! Quick! Call for help or chase after them!
4. You know what's a good thing about that resort in Ob Holm? It's got a pretty cool oasis to chill at. Talk about a five star vacation.
5. Somehow you're taking a trip on Cid's airship over the desert. Whether to Somarium, Ob Holm or Endouto is up to you!
6. Reroll or go crazy and make something up!

[ and who in all the world is more just and unwavering than Stannis Baratheon? ]
I do not doubt your words. Your children and their fire will bring warmth and light to many when the cold covers the world.
[ her lips quirk ever so slightly, the corners turning up into a small smile, though secretive and unreadable. ]
I hail from Asshai-by-the-Shadow, as you have guessed, Khaleesi. I am called Melisandre by some, and simply 'red woman' by still more. [ among other things; she has heard every title, every name that men choose to bestow upon her, whether in reverence or in disrespect. ] Was this Quaithe a servant of the Lord of Light as I am?

[ her tone is firm in that. as long as she lives she will not cease in trying to reclaim her throne. for now she bides her time, learns to become more of a queen and less of a girl. her dragons grow. she has time, though from the way of things she's been told, things in westeros are hardly ideal.
then she speaks of the cold and dany watches. she is not mirri maz duur. she still reminds her ever more of quaithe, in a way that is just as mysterious if not more vague. ]
The cold? I do not know your god, Lady Melisandre, but your way of speech reminds me of her, though I know little of her save her appearances. She has spoken to me of things that have happened, paths I may take on my way home.
[ westeros is home. she aches for it now, not as much as the red door but just so, it is all that dany was never given. what place is westeros if not for a dragon long from home? ]

[ madness or greatness. isn't that said to be the Targaryens' lot? as impressive as Daenerys may be, Melisandre simply cannot take the risk. the world needs strength and reliability. it needs Stannis Baratheon. ]
Your Quaithe may have possessed the gift of sight. I, too, see what may be, by R'hllor's grace. Have you heard of the Red God, Khaleesi? That is his name, too; the God of Flame and Shadow, the Heart of Fire. He is called many things, but it is from he that all good flows. Truth, knowledge, and foresight are his to bestow upon whom he will--as are all boons. He has blessed you with your dragon children already. I am certain that he intends greatness for you.
[ but not the throne of Westeros. no, not that. ]
I will look for you, Daenerys Stormborn, when next I gaze into the fire.

[ her tone is curious, tinted with bitterness at the memory. her nieces and nephews slain before they'd ever known life. ]
I am curious how that could make any of them worthy of a throne that was never theirs.
[she strokes drogon's head]
I am called a 'mother', Lady Melisandre. To those I free, and to the people of the Kingdoms so I shall be. They are mine. A dragon does not let go of its horde, nor will I of what was stolen from me. Perhaps my brother might have ruled as my Father had, but I am neither.
That is my path.
[ she glanced at her with a tilt of her head, eyes not the red of fire, but there was heat in them all the same. ]
And what shall you see?

[ and nothing can contest that, as far as she's concerned. ]
But now is the time to set aside such rivalries. It makes no matter who sits Iron Throne if the world is consumed by cold and night.
[ there's the hint of a smile. ] What I shall see is yet to be determined--though perhaps you might come to know, if you were to join me in prayer.

Cold and night? By what do you mean? I have heard that Westeros is far from settled but I would hear from one who dwells there.
[ daenerys watches her carefully, doesn't slacken her shoulders at her smile or red eyes. she has a fire too, you see, in her blood. her own smile is humored at best. ]
I have learned that those who claim to see paths, whether or not they are true, are worth lending an ear to. I will come to your prayers, though your god is not mine.

[ he and his agents grow more powerful each day, and yet no one in Westeros who has not seen the other side of the Wall acknowledges it. ]
You would be Queen of ice and bones, Khaleesi, if you fail to realize this, as so many others have. You may yet change your mind about my god, when you come to know the truth of the words I have spoken.
[ she folds her hands together. ] If you so wish it, join me seven nights hence. The flame will draw you to me.
