Test-Drive Meme: September 2012

This meme serves as a practice ground for both new and old players of Somarium to both get used to voicetest characters they may choose to play in the upcoming application cycle. Potential applicants are more than welcome to join in on the fun. It works like any open meme and the rules are simple.

1. Looks like the Ob Holm bazaar is having a sale. There's a few interesting trinkets here and there but maybe you need a little help deciding what to buy.

2. The dreamgate isn't accessible for the return trip back from Endouto to Ob Holm so it looks like you're stuck for a couple of days. Maybe it's time you gather some supplies or explore the area.

3. Someone just stole something off of you! Quick! Call for help or chase after them!

4. You know what's a good thing about that resort in Ob Holm? It's got a pretty cool oasis to chill at. Talk about a five star vacation.

5. Somehow you're taking a trip on Cid's airship over the desert. Whether to Somarium, Ob Holm or Endouto is up to you!

6. Reroll or go crazy and make something up!

Pray do be careful - humans seem to take a dislike toward our kind.

Yeah, I'm kind of used to it.

It is true, due to my size people scream bloody murder simply due to my size.

[Oh, see those people? Yeah, they're wary and wanting to bolt at any moment.]

But I also have people back from whence I came that did not fear me. Those are the best sorts of people, in my opinion.

I've met a couple of humans who were all right back home, but most of them pretty much hate dragons.

[shrugs.]

Guess it's kind of a universal thing.

It is not so much hate back home, but fear that we might eat them, even though it is a rather ridiculous idea, and very unfounded.

[Okay, so at least not really. Just the few small ferals that might take a human or two if they are really, really hungry.]

However I am still much in agreement, it does seem to transcend all sorts of worlds.

Exactly, why would anyone dare do so? I would much prefer cows or sheep better than I would them. Or even a fresh-caught tunnie would be better.

You know what's good? Chinese takeout. [dead serious. go go fourth wall.] The spicier the better.

Same here. Always nice to see another dragon around—especially in a place like this.

The Chinese style of cooking is simply the best, I could not agree with you more, especially with all those vegetables and seasonings that they include along with the meat, those savory smells that entice and make you want to eat it all while taking your time to taste it, truly taste it.

[A wistful sigh. He so does love that sort of cooking.]

It is indeed very nice to know that one is not alone in this world amongst all the humans in this world. I shall hope we can speak at leisure and compare the worlds from whence we are come. I think it would be an interesting endeavour, to say the least.

But I'm cool with that. I've been to a few different worlds before, but the only ones with dragons I knew about were the ones in the Dragon Realm.

[plus he seems like a cool elder dragon. not like most of the others.]

The Chinese way of cooking is a beautiful form of art that I do love very much. Compared to what I used to have before, it is the grandest thing one could ever conceive simply with everything that deals with their food.

[Yep. All of that is a BIG step up from live cattle, sheep or goat that is unseasoned and bloody. Though he did love guts when he was a fresh-hatched dragonet.]

I can only say that this would be my first time in such a world, so you would have more experience about this than I would. Still, I come from a world where there are many, many dragons, Spyro. It is only sad that I have not come across a world like your own, for I am quite sure I would have loved it.

[A world that is only for dragons? Draconic Utopia, that's what that would be.]

Is the place full of ninjas, too?

My world was filled with a ton of them, too. Actually it's pretty much the only place. All the dragons moved there and pretty much called it home.

[...okay move isn't the right term, but whatever. Spyro and history—he got the basics.]

But I'm sure you would have had a blast. If there were a portal or something here, I could even take you to Dragon Shores. That's where I was supposed to go, but somehow ended up in this world instead.

[probably the Professor's fault on that.]

No, I do not think I have heard of this "ninjas" that you are talking about, sorry.

[He looks quite happy as he's hearing the description.]

It cannot be helped, that is about as much as can be said about that, Spyro. Still, it would be a great thing to behold.

[His world did seem to be quite the great one.]

They're pretty cool. They wear these weird outfits and flip around. Kind of sneaky, too.

[and sometimes annoying but whatever. he can handle anything :|b]

If we can't find a way from here, I'll see if I can get the Professor to see if he can connect to your world.

Oh, I do not like others that tend to be sneaky - they are always up to something, and it is usually never good.

[His cousin is mainly that, and thus his dislike of people, or dragons, that are thus so.]

Mm, I would thin that if you could get to my world, somehow, I would thank you very much so for doing so. You would be welcome, and you would be given whatever sort of meal you would prefer so you need not worry for any sort of room and board whilst you try to get back to your own realm, Spyro.

That aside, you would not be thought of as being odd. Except for your colouring, perhaps, but that can be easily explained as your being another sort of dragon.
