Test-Drive Meme: September 2012

This meme serves as a practice ground for both new and old players of Somarium to both get used to voicetest characters they may choose to play in the upcoming application cycle. Potential applicants are more than welcome to join in on the fun. It works like any open meme and the rules are simple.

1. Post with your character and their name and canon on the subject line.

1. Looks like the Ob Holm bazaar is having a sale. There's a few interesting trinkets here and there but maybe you need a little help deciding what to buy.

2. The dreamgate isn't accessible for the return trip back from Endouto to Ob Holm so it looks like you're stuck for a couple of days. Maybe it's time you gather some supplies or explore the area.

3. Someone just stole something off of you! Quick! Call for help or chase after them!

4. You know what's a good thing about that resort in Ob Holm? It's got a pretty cool oasis to chill at. Talk about a five star vacation.

5. Somehow you're taking a trip on Cid's airship over the desert. Whether to Somarium, Ob Holm or Endouto is up to you!

6. Reroll or go crazy and make something up!

[ To have it referred to as 'ages ago' and 'from the past' was odd as it was. Compared to the fact that people could be brought here after death, brought back to life didn't sit well with him either when he thought about it.

Loke frowned a bit at that and finally opened his eyes to look at the light-haired Dragon Slayer just a bit from where he stood. ]

This... place. It certainly quite strange if it can manage to accomplish those things without fail when certainly it should be impossible.

[ A beat is followed by a small, almost amused smile. ]

To think it can actually keep you locked here is quite incredible as well.

It's a drag really. They say it's a dream world but you can't fly or do anything you couldn't already do. It also hasn't cured my problem with vehicles.

Following him seemed to be the best course of action. Clint had no way of knowing what sort of world his doppleganger came from or if his doppleganger was even as half a paranoid or trained as he was. Best to play it safe, especially since he was dealing with being only one-handed at the moment.

Clint watched as he examined some trinkets. Yeah, even though he knew this guy was from another world it was weird to see himself. Curiosity was starting to nag at the back of Clint's brain. He was just DYING to ask or at least mess with this guy.

[EDI is wandering the area, not to gather anything particularly important, just some information on her new setting. She isn't programmed with the knowledge of this place, nor is she linked into any kind of database. All of her curiosity and drive to learn about Ob Holm has to be sated on foot, and luckily she has the capacity now to do just that.

She pauses infront of a bazaar, the trinkets and "for sale" signage catching her attention. These pieces are old enough to be considered historic in her mechanical eyes. Having never come into contact with something so... charmingly archaic before, she lifts a pendant from the table and spins it before her eyes, everything about it taken in and analyzed to the smallest detail.]

[Yogi is probably the most annoying one...

And rude, Jiki. Gareki should be more recognized than just a little bit!!]

It's not easy getting out of this place. I know that a lot of people tend to come and go, but it's not by choice.

Rude runs in First Ship. Jiki's probably the most polite one though.]

[Super troublesome to be stuck with this stubborn guy, but Jiki isn't going to say that outright...just yet. If he's concerned, he'd be concerned about his plants, but the rabbits would take care of them.]

Not well-informed, I think. We don't get told much. I just read the records on this [she shows him her Dreamberry] and pay attention to broadcasts through it.

People get brought here for no reason that they know, and leave unpredictably. Sometimes they return, sometimes they don't. This place also broadcasts dreams, while being known as a dream world. You get here by not being in a normal state of consciousness.

[She set her jaw, trying to calm her rising temper, and glanced back at him.]

It's got nothing to do with any mist or anything like it. Trust me, I've been here longer than you and I know what I'm talking about.

[At hearing a female voice address her, she turns from the trinket only briefly to offer a nod in recognition. The pendant still holds the majority of her interest, and for some reason she finds it difficult to fully let the object go.]

'New' is not the term I would use to describe this pendant, nor would I use it to describe anything being sold at this stand. It is very... antiquated, and yet I find myself incapable of simply ignoring it.

I meant, that I hadn't seen things like this before often. I had no idea about its age. It appeals to you?

Dany respectfully approaches, bending down to examine his claws with fingers small in comparison. She feels his scales on one leg, then glances up at him from her spot as he speaks to Drogon.

Drogon makes a quiet screech, flapping his wings once. Dany chuckles. "I imagine he is confused as to why you are so much bigger than he is. He is very proud."

I see. In that case then yes, you are right. I have yet to experience something of this calibre as well.

[She blinks, metallic eyes shimmering with a curiosity most wouldn't assume a 'robot' be capable of.]

Does it appeal to me? I suppose. I have no need for it, but the sales sign indicates that it is popular, or being liquidated. Either way, it might soon sell out. This could be my only chance to obtain one.

If you want it, you should get it. But if you don't really want it, don't worry about not being able to get one later.

Functionality aside, it is still difficult to pass on the offer. In the future, it may also serve as an interesting gift.

[For Jeff, should she see him here or should the object follow her back to the Normandy. It's unlikely, but the probability of both options is still near impossible to calculate, and it's that that makes her reach for her credits.

That done, she grasps the pendant in her hand, and now fully places her attention on the woman.]
